Why is edgar allen poe considered grotesque?
Poe is considered grotesque because the stories he wrote. His mother died when he was very young and many think that this was on the set of his behavior. He was an amazing writer but all the same he was weird. He married his cousin. He was a raging alcoholic and may have actually died from liver failure but this is just one of the possibilities. His drinking habits probably made him moodier but all the same the outcome was amazing literature.
