Why is Easter less commercialized than Christmas?
Easter should not be commercialised at all and nor should Christmas. They are Christian festivals and those who do not believe have hijacked these days for financial gain. True Christians celebrate both festivals in very gentle ways compared with the remainder of people who choose to celebrate the days. Christians feel very differently about Easter than they do about Christmas. His entry into the world is the fulfilment of certain parts of Old Testament scripture but His rising from the dead is fulfilment of a other parts of scripture. Both are important and relevant but born-again Christians place emphasis on His resurrection a little more than on His birth because this is something which He, personally, spoke about and said would happen – explaining why it would happen. Because He rose we know that we will also rise and be with Him. We know that what He said would happen to Himself came true so we have no reason to doubt anything else that He said.
