Why is domperidone given to patients starting on APO-go treatment?

0

Like levodopa, APO-go can cause nausea and vomiting in some patients. Patients should be treated with domperidone usually 20mg three times a day, for at least three days prior to initiation with therapy. Most people can discontinue with domperidone after a few months as they find they no longer need it. Please note: Other anti-emetics should not be prescribed as these may have a detrimental effect on Parkinson’s control.
