Why is Daily Kos attacking Code Pink?
The far-left website DailyKos is attacking equally far-left Code Pink for challenging some Democrats over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Factor asked Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin why her group has raised the ire of Kos denizens. “Perhaps it’s because we don’t toe any party line,” Benjamin replied, “we’re independent, and they don’t like that.” Benjamin laid out her vision for ending the war in Afghanistan. “We would tell President Obama to set a timeline for withdrawal and to call for an international conference and start looking for a negotiated solution.” The Factor questioned the wisdom of negotiating with nihilistic terrorists. “Since the Taliban have rejected negotiations and have said they are just going to cut people’s heads off, who would you talk to? If we get out, the Taliban takes over and Al Qaeda has a staging ground just as it had before 9/11.
