Why is CRCO data used in NEVAC?

NEVAC data files contain the cost per unit distance for each country belonging to the ECAC zone. The cost of a route for an airline company is made up of the operating cost component (fuel etc.) and the route charge component. The cost per unit distance data sourced from the CRCO allows NEVAC to estimate the route charge component. Route costs will be used in the future when re-routing functionality is added to NEVAC. This data will allow NEVAC to evaluate the route with the lowest route charges.
