Why is craniosacral therapy important for treating injuries?
In the context of injury work I focus on trauma as a mechanical event that can be caused by the effects of contact (the body either striking, or being struck by an object) and by the effects of inertia (when the body is subjected to acceleration and/or deceleration). For example, in a whiplash injury, either of these types of trauma affect not only the muscles and soft tissue, but also affect the skull (cranium), vertebrae, and structures that surround and protect the brain and neural system including the dural tube, cranial sutures and the craniofacial membranous junction. I believe in the importance of addressing these with very specific and specialized CST techniques, in addition to muscular or soft tissue treatment.
