Why is copper used for electrical wiring?

Now we know why copper is such an important item. Nevertheless, I wat to tell why we need the best wire stripper in our houses. It is common knowledge that every electrician has it at his disposal. But everybody needs it because you never know what’s gonna happen and having a wire stripper just in case is a good thing.
Actually copper is a better electric conductor than gold. It is a common misconception that gold is better. It probably comes from the fact that gold is the best HEAT conductor, and that good heat conductors also tend to be good electric conductors. Gold is used in electronics, but only in applications that require the tiniest wires or the least corrosion. Copper is the best conductor of any metal except for silver. Silver is too expensive for normal use. Aluminum is used for wiring also. It is not as good a conductor as copper, so the wire diameter has to be larger to carry the same current. Even so, it is cost competitive with copper.
