Why is Congress involved in the issue with baseball players use of performance enhancing drugs?
Congress needs to work to maintain the integrity of busnisses in the country, and sports teams are really simply businesses. If one team has players taking performance-enhancing drugs, they are winning games unfairly and getting more money than they would without them. This is effectively one company stealing from another company, which the federal government would be stopping very quickly if it became a big news topic. Also, Congress is making a statement that it does not support the use of drugs in order to artificially boost performance, and is trying to keep the American spirit of hard work alive.
