Tex K almost explained the process of condensation and the effect in timber house as well as he provided some techniques on how to prevent it. I’ll just provide some additional insights on how to prevent rotting and damages to timber members even with there is condensation, such as : 1) Prior to installation or fixing of timber members, just ensure that all members where properly dried. Kiln dried lumbers (KD) are preferably shall be used. 2) Timber members must be treated against termites and other insects. 3) Apply timber members with used oil as protection against insects as well as protection against water absorption when exposed to weather. Used oil will prevent water to absorb at the same time serving as insect repellant.
