Why is Conan still lying to Ran?
This question is very difficult to answer. I think it’s because males and females see things differently. There is no doubt that Conan (Shinichi) wants to protect Ran from the Black Organization since Conan knows that Ran is very sensitive and always cares for other people. Personally, I don’t think Ran is weak. I think she is stronger than Conan thinks and she already showed it in the Detective Ran episode. However, you can see that Ran cried a lot at the end of that episode. And, I think that’s what Conan/Shinichi doesn’t want do; he doesn’t want to hurt Ran or make her cry. That’s problably why Conan is stilly lying to Ran. Conan/Shinichi is not happy that he has to tell Ran lie, but he has very few options. I think Ran would be very upset to know the truth later on. However, Ran will understand and forgive Conan/Shinichi.
