Why is Coenzymated B-6 included in the melatonin formula?
Deficiencies in Vitamin B-6 are common, especially in adults over the age of 55. The active form of Vitamin B-6, Phridoxal 5-Phosphate, is responsible for converting tryptophan to serotonin, which in turn is converted to melatonin. A deficiency in Vitamin B-6 may affect melatonin synthesis in the pineal gland.
