Why is closing schools part of the Long Range Facilities Plan?

0

Our schools have 28% too much space. No business can afford to heat, maintain and insure that much extra space. Elementaries have too few students to support full-time specialists. High schools don’t have enough students to support a robust curriculum. The plan saves about $5.3 million a year in inefficiencies which can be reinvested in the facilities plan and/or programs.
