Why is Cherry Bottom Road shifted?

0

ODOT shifted Cherry Bottom Road from just west of the Blendon Woods Metro Park to Old Cherry Bottom Road/Dublin Granville Road (just east of the Darrington Condominiums) due to unforeseen soil conditions that have caused the road to potentially become unstable in the event of a large rain. The shift allowed us to move traffic back onto the stable portion of the roadway. We are doing major excavation in the area, but before we started, we took soil tests and all results showed that the soil should have been stable enough to hold the roadway.
