Actress Farrah Fawcett passed away early this morning in a Santa Monica, California hospital, after a two and a half-year battle with cancer. Fawcett, who shot to super-stardom with her role as Jill Munroe in the TV sensation Charlie’s Angels, found out she had anal cancer in 2006 and was diagnosed with a malignant rectal polyp a year later. Just last month, she narrated and shot a TV special, Farrah’s Story, which she recounted her own tale of her cancer battle. The actress’ fame also received a jolt from a famous poster of her in a red swimsuit, which sold 12 million copies and became the highest-selling poster of all time. Fawcett left Charlie’s Angels after just one season to pursue a film career, with Cheryl Ladd replacing her on the show, although she did return for guest-starring spots for the second season.
