What’s a letterhead shell? There are two types of preprinted letterhead: letterhead shells and generic letterhead. Letterhead shells are preprinted letterhead that contain the logo and your organization’s name but have an empty left hand margin and footer area where you can add your own name, title(s), department, address, and phone/fax/e-mail information using your computer. Generic stationery is also preprinted with the corporate symbol and your organization’s name as well as your organization’s main address, phone number, and other pertinent information. The templates can be used with both letterhead options. However, if your address is different than your organization’s main address, you should only use the letterhead shells.
