Why is car seat safety such a big concern?
According to Statistics Canada, injuries related to motor vehicles are the leading cause of death and injury among children and youth under the age of 14. According to Transport Canada, approximately 30 children under the age of four years die in motor vehicle collisions annually; an additional 2,866 children are injured. In conjunction with these facts, our 2005 Snap Buckle Drive statistics show that only 1 out of every 5 children brought to the clinics were properly restrained. 83% of people failed the car seat inspection!
