Why is Caffeine Added to Certain Foods?
As you know caffeine is a stimulate, easily absorbed by the body and carried through the blood stream. Caffeine is known for it effectiveness to decrease fatigue, increase heart rate and mental alertness. It is added to foods to help jump start the person so to speak. While tea and coffee contain caffeine naturally, other foods such as sodas and some energy drinks, the caffeine is added and when coupled with sugar, caffeine can provide quite the energy boosts.
