Why is Brownies, the grizzly bear, exhibit so small? How old is he?
Brownie came to Sunset Zoo as a circus bear in the 1960’s. We do not have accurate records about him prior to his arrival though we believe he is 50-55 years old. Because of Brownie’s advanced age, Zoo and Veterinary staff believe the stress of moving him to a new exhibit would be harmful to his health. Brownie spends most of his days happily lounging in his pool or relaxing in his den waiting for your visit!
