Why is BP interested in partnering with UCB, LBNL, UIUC?
UC Berkeley and its partners have track records of delivering “Big Science” similar to the EBI mission — large and complex developments predicated on both scientific breakthroughs and engineering applications, requiring the world-class, multi-disciplinary, coordinated and collaborative teams. BP and the EBI hope that this may also help to develop a whole new area of post graduate expertise and an area ripe for further educational opportunities for our next generation scientist and engineers.
