Why is blood drawn from veins rather than arteries?

Veins are much easier to get to as you can readily see them on most people. Also blood runs faster in the arteries and arteries are set much deeper. Blood for certain tests must be drawn from arteries (usually the one in the wrists) I’m thinking right away of Arterial blood gases.
