Why is bind bad?

Bind in any suspension system is generally not good because it introduces another set of variables that need to be considered when tuning a system. Our feeling is that the design of a suspension system should be kinematically free: no bind, so that each adjustment made is predictable, and so the system is doing what we expect it do in practice.
