Why is billing cycle restructuring necessary?
The City’s utility billing cycle restructuring is necessary because of the rapid growth in the number of utility accounts. The restructuring will allow the City to bill customers in smaller, more efficient cycles. Who will be affected by the changes? Only customers with City of Peoria Water Service will be affected. Customers with only sewer and/or refuse service will not be affected. When does the change take effect? In general, the changes will begin with the October 2008 bill. The bill cycle restructuring will also ensure customers receive a bill right after the meter is read. The change is expected to reduce wait times for customers calling or visiting the Customer Service Center located in City Hall. How will this affect my bill?
