Why is BET (Black Entertainment Television) not considered racist by society, but WET (White Entertainment Television) would be?
It’s not that being white isn’t okay or racist. It’s that a majority of Americans are, in fact, white; thus, the programming on most cable and mainstream television is geared towards either a general audience, or a white audience. Being completely honest, WET is basically every other channel. As a larger (growing) minority, there are going to have to be instances where changes have to be made to adapt the differences between these cultures and interests.
