Why is Battlestar Galactica so popular?

I’m sure you will get a different one from each user! For me, it’s all about character development, story arcs, riveting plots, and pithy dialogue. For example, Starbuck is married to Anders but she still has the hots for Apollo. She’s setting herself up for a fall. This “space opera” is everything that Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise (and sadly, even a few of the later franchise films like Insurrection and Nemesis) were not. They had shallow characters, plot holes big enough to fly a spaceship through, too many explosions and special effects, and overemphasis on technology and nonsensical jargon. I won’t get into the Star Wars comparisons though… their fanboys tend to be, well, devoted to their fantasy. *cough* I’m glad the 2003 incarnation of Battlestar Galactica came along; now other television series have a model to live up to. Bravo, Ron Moore!!

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
