Why is Art Being used on River, Trail, and Park Projects?
The American landscape wasnt always thought of as beautiful. But beginning in the 1820s, the Hudson River School painters celebrated our landscape with lush, natural scenes on canvas and ignited Americans desire to see those landscapes preserved. Similarly, early photographers who captured the raw beauty of Yellowstone and Yosemite helped convince Congress of the importance of conservation, and supported the creation of our first national parks.
