Why is Ariba changing the Supplier Membership Program?
Based on extensive consultation with the buyer and supplier community via surveys, a behavioral analysis of 55,000 suppliers, and one-on-one conversations, Ariba is updating its SMP packaging, as well as adjusting pricing and participation thresholds to market levels. The fees suppliers pay are invested in the Network to enhance account management, services, the platform, and functionality for suppliers, as well as to create new marketing and exposure opportunities for suppliers among Ariba’s Global 2000 buyer base. Suppliers are realizing significant value today – such as faster payment, decreased costs, and increased sales – and the Network will continue to be the focus of significant strategic investments by Ariba.
