Why is Antigone not considered a tragic hero?
. A hero is someone who does great deeds, and who has great power and strength. In its feminine form of heroine, the title and the position description fit Antigone. For example, Antigone does great deeds because she dares to bury her brother Polyneices in accordance with the god-given funerary procedures to which he’s eligible. She shows great moral power and strength in so doing, for she is confronting the vaster power of the State as represented by her uncle, Theban King Creon.
