Why is Andrew Jackson on the 20 Bill?
Andrew Jackson’s portrait was first printed on the twenty dollar bill in 1928. The Treasury department offers no reason for the switch from Grover Cleveland to Andrew Jackson. However, some people speculate that Jackson’s opposition to the National Bank and to paper money may have influenced their decision.
