Why is an NIS login (authentication) now required on all campus computers?
This has been done to ensure the campus network is secure, and that those using it are following acceptable use guidelines. In the event of any security breach, the University will be able to associate users to specific computers, times and dates. Q: Is there a time limit on how long I can use the computers in the library? A: To ensure computers are available for everyone who needs to use one, the PCs you log into with your network account have a time limit of one hour. If computers are available, patrons may log-in again for additional sessions.
