Well, the People’s Republic of China is fast catching up now! The trick of Taiwan is because it has been relatively developed along the lines of an open, capitalistic society, while Mainland China has been carved along the lines of a closed, socialist society. Meanwhile, Mainland China has got a cue from Taiwan and it is now improving its openness to some areas of capitalism – leading to its economic rising now.
