Only by receiving unfiltered/anonymous feedback from your employee stakeholders can you target your value creation efforts to go after the high impact, do-able items to gain some immediate credibility to your EVC program. Once your staff sees 1) you are listening and 2) you are going to be responsive to the things that are important to them, you’ll begin to get more and better suggestions and ideas about how to make your company an employer of choice. It isn’t about doing everything – it’s about doing the right things. And, explaining why some things cannot be done. This opens the dialog so that employees begin to understand how you make decisions, why you have certain operational rules and processes and why profitability has to be everyone’s concern. The survey is the beginning of your dialog and gives you year on year progress tracking to see how far you’ve come. It is only the first step but the right step to get communication humming inside your organization.
