Why is all of ORPs input and output in thousands of dollars instead of dollars?
• Shorter numbers are easier to read and type accurately, as long as the user mentally applies the 1,000-scale factor. • Model computations over a 30 to 60 year time horizon have no significance at the dollar level. Thousands of dollars are sufficient. To print results in dollars implies accuracy that just isn’t there.
