Why is Adobe discontinuing Acrobat Pro Extended?
Adobe plays a unique role in the marketplace, at all times trying to strike the right balance between market leadership and partner ecosystem development. Successful adoption of two technologies in Acrobat Pro Extended — 3D PDF and geospatial PDF — has driven market demand for more robust and highly specialized solutions. After a detailed analysis, Adobe concluded that these market areas have achieved a level of maturity that will be better served by partners who are dedicated to these specific areas. In preparing to launch Acrobat X, Adobe worked closely with industry-leading partners to migrate select Adobe technologies and facilitate a smooth transition for our customers. This included forming a strategic partnership with Tech Soft 3D for the ongoing development and delivery of 3D translation technology.
