Why is AARP raising the dues?

0

You should save money on the mail that you send out every month. I just need one renewal notice, that will save money and you won’t have to raise the dues. A: Costs for postage, paper, printing and many other core costs have all increased. This dues increase will enable us to cover the growing costs, and continue our mission to enhance the quality of life for all as we age – leading positive social change and delivering value to our more than 40 million members through information, advocacy, service and access to market-changing products and services. Renewal notices are particularly successful as over 80% of our members renew. However, most members don’t renew after just one renewal notice. We do stop sending renewal notices as soon as someone renews. This could not have come at a worse time for most of us members. We’re on fixed incomes and with the economy where it is now; we’re just barely getting by. Why couldn’t the dues increase have waited until the economy gets back on track?
