Why is a TRAC survey of staff time required?
A. The University already knows how much it pays individual members of staff and it’s total salaries cost. In order to calculate the costs of teaching, research and other activities it is necessary to collect data to show how staff utilise their time. The numbers calculated from TRAC are used to provide the University’s Estates and Indirect fEC rates, therefore it is critical that there is a high, accurate responce to the time allocation surveys.
