Why is a there a NASCAR race start?
In measuring the distance for the 5-Mile run, we faced a quandary – the Towpath Trail configuration within the Cleveland Metroparks Canal Reservation would not accommodate a race course that would allow a proper distance on the roadway that would thin the runners prior to entering the trail while using a common Finish Line with the Half Marathon. Our solution is the NASCAR start.
