Why is a pebble finish considered to be so much better that a plaster or marcite type of pool interior?

The pebbles in Pebble finishes are harder and more resistant to pool chemicals than that of the marble sands used in standard plaster or marcite finish. Secondly, by removing the cement paste on the surface of the pool and exposing only the pebbles nearly eliminates all surface staining and the inherent characteristics that afflict plaster and marcite types of pool finishes. Thirdly, the multi-colored pebbles disperse through out the surface of the pool’s interior giving a much more pleasing look to the pool surface versus a single colored surface. Single colored surfaces seem to show any slight imperfections in the pool surface more readily. While not bullet proof exposed aggregate pebble pools are impressively durable, long lasting and stay looking beautiful.
