A KVM is included with the HP Oracle Database Machine for two primary purposes: – Initial setup of the DB Servers in the rack. When the servers come from HP Factory Express the iLO IP Addresses are not configured. Therefore you need to use the KVM to configure the IP Addresses. – When hardware maintenance occurs, the HP Engineers would need a local keyboard/monitor to perform their work. Additionally it provides a keyboard/monitor in the rack for system administrators should they require it.
