Why is a consent form needed?

We request that each person providing their bodily sample for either a Willcheck® or Genecheck test give their consent to do so, so that the nature and purpose of the test is absolutely clear. We believe that YOUR DNA is yours and that no-one should have access to it or any information contained within it, without your express written and informed consent. Genetic information is no different to any other personal (e.g. medical or financial) information and as such, we believe that you should have the right to determine who has access to your genetic information. We ask for your consent to make it clear that we work on your behalf. Your stored DNA will remain yours. We do not at any point take possession of it or assume any rights over it. We only process samples further as part of our Willcheck® or Genecheck services following receipt of your (or your executors) written informed consent.
