Why is a capuchin monkey endangered?
The Yellow-Breasted Capuchin, is listed as “critically endangered”, according to the IUCN Red List. They are endangered in part, due to heavy hunting, habitat loss, and degradation, and capture for the black market pet trade. The Crested Capuchin is also listed on the IUCN Red List, as “endangered”. This is due again in part to habitat loss and degradation, hunting for food.
