Why Is 13 an Unlucky Number?
no one knows for sure, but we do know that the number 13 has been considered unlucky for thousands of years. the ancient Babylonians are the earliest known people to believe that the number 13 were unlucky. the ancients were so convinced of this that when they came up with the astrological signs, they actually ignored a constellations so that their wouldn’t be 13. some people believe that 13 was unlucky because 12 was lucky and one more was bad. another theory is that if you count up your 10 fingers and two feet you get 12 and one more would be the unlucky 13. as for why Friday the thirteenth is unlucky, all Fridays used to be considered unlucky, the 13th was just more so. however when we went to a five day work week, Friday became the start of the weekend and became a good thing. that is with the exception of Friday the 13th.
