WHY INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA?
Economical – Printed media is expensive and becoming more so. The price of printing and paper has gone up by 60% in the first 8 months of 1995 and another 40% increase to become effective September 1995. A total of 100% increase for paper in 1995! Higher Retention – Studies indicate people retain 20% of what they hear, 40% of what they see and 60-70% in which they participate. Interactive multimedia accomplishes these goals. Editing – Editing is easily accomplished with this technology vs. discarding outdated printed material. or the expense of updating complete video s is eliminated. Scoring – Detailed scoring, to the keystroke, can be kept during CBT (Computer Based Training) programs. Information can be saved to a trainees own disk and/or the data base on the organizations main computer. Interactively – Unlike printed material, multimedia draws the viewer in to participation which significantly increases retention. Animation and Sound – Animation and sound enhances interest levels.
