Why index a book or journal?
A book or journal, whether in print or online, is usually consulted when readers are trying to solve a problem. The user needs to find an answer quickly and easily. The A-Z index acts as a quick reference tool, and provides an intelligent map to the information within. “A good index can be much more than a guide to the contents of a book.
