When someone purchases a car from a licensed dealer the cars often for one reason or another have no permanent plates. The car dealership usually gives the new owner a temporary operating permit, and then what better place to get free advertising, you looked, and it stuck in your head. That’s their goal and it worked.

When you buy a new car, sometimes it doesn’t have a license plate and instead it has an ad from the car dealer. We have a certain amount of time (30 days, some states might be less) to get the car registered and get a license plate for it, the dealer doesn’t have to provide the plate for us.

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
