Why in the movie Boys Don Cry, was Lisas character called Candace?
Much of the movie was different from the real story… as to your question im not totally sure, possibly the family did not allow rights or posssibly to use Lisa they would have to get more into Brandon and Lisa’s relationship and unfortunately, money was so tight the film was almost scrapped. To make a factual movie it would most like be 12 hrs long and millions of dollars more. Phil Devine was completely left out of the movie too. Time constraints and money and storyline, and rights to the characters,i think are all reasons why Lisa was changed to a Candace character.
