Why Hydrogen Fuel Cells?
A hydrogen fuel cell has many advantages over the typical gasoline engine of today. Fuel cells are about 60% efficient whereas combustion engines are only 25% efficient. Unlike a battery a fuel cell never needs to be recharged. All you do is add more Hydrogen. Instead of producing greenhouse gasses the exhaust of a fuel cell is only water. A Hydrogen fuel cell combines Hydrogen with Oxygen from the air to create an electrical current and water. The electrons are diverted to an external circuit where they provide the power necessary to run the vehicle. In order to generate enough power a large number of fuel cells are stacked together in series, combining the individual power outputs.
