Why/how to become a vet?
People become vets because – they love animals and want to work with them – they’re interested in medicine, biology, and the puzzle of how things work – they want to help people by helping their pets. To become a vet in the US, you have to do 4 years of undergraduate work in college, majoring in an appropriate field such as Biology. You have to get EXCELLENT grades. You also have to get experience, usually by volunteering to work at a vet clinic near you. Without vet experience, you won’t be admitted to a Vet School. You have to score in the top percentiles of the graduate testing. (GRE or MCADS). Then, you begin applying to vet schools. Most people have to apply for several years to get in, refining their experiences and improving their scores/interview skills/etc. Then, you spend 4 years at Vet School.
