Why haven they used the ship designs from SFB?
The ship models from SFB have not been used for various reasons. Chris T. wrote- “We had to take the Gorn, Klingon, Romulan and Fed ships the way they are (from KA). We did get to make the Orion, Hydran and Lyran hulls from scratch (well, from the SSDs). Since we are creating the “official” look of the races, we took some liberties with them to bring them up to a more modern art/Trek-style.
