66 Leq is the boundary for similar schemes, approved by the Department for Transport. These schemes operated within a contour that is comparable to 66 Leq. 66 Leq defines the area that the Government predicts to be the extent of medium to high levels of community annoyance from aircraft noise in the year 2030. This boundary is the most reasonable estimate of blight directly attributable to the proposed new runway.
