A.Responsibility for the maintenance of these sections of the A3 has returned to the Hampshire County Council Havant Highways maintenance sub-unit as the construction works on the ZIP 41 corridor are substantially complete. The resurfacing that has been undertaken so far was extended as far as the available funding would allow. Major drainage improvement works in section 4 of the project (that were not originally planned) had to be funded by making savings on other elements of the project. However, some of the resurfacing that was subsequently scheduled not to be undertaken was later reinstated by rationalising proposals for carriageway reconstruction elsewhere along the A3 corridor and the use of maintenance monies. The County Council has proposals to undertake further resurfacing in the future as soon as funding is identified. These proposals are for the resurfacing of the southbound lane from adjacent to the Queens Inclosure to Highfield Avenue, and surface dressing of the northboun
